I am grieved that rapture timing continues to cause division in the Body of Christ. After writing about the rapture in half of the 20 books I have now authored or co-authored, I have determined that Paul's description of this event, as documented in the 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18 passage, is enough to settle the matter once and for all. After nearly 30 years since I began to study this prophecy, I am only now waking up, myself, to the evidence contained in this "rapture passage." And, as the Apostles voiced in Acts Chapter Four, I "cannot but speak the things which [I] have seen and heard.
Once a person takes to heart the exact words that Paul used to comfort the Thessalonians, there's simply no going back. Now, there are some who would suggest that I am the one causing division by rehashing the rapture and making such a big deal out of what many on both sides consider to be a sort of "sacred cow" doctrine. That, further discussion on a topic so controversial can only be expected to fan the flames of hostility. Here I must confess that I also lashed out against others, once I was convinced of my present stance on the issue. It was a sin, from which I have long since repented—and yes; I did both seek and receive forgiveness from God and my dearest friends regarding this offense.
Unexpectedly, others have attacked me on social media with the retort: "There is no rapture at all." I strongly disagree with such a conclusion. The change "in the twinkling of an eye" is most certainly found in the Bible. If, however, these "non-rapture" proponents are making the case that there are issues with the translation of the Greek word Paul used for "rapture," I would have to concede that they do have a point...
